Wow, Mom was talking to aunt Becky, what a dish she was! She reminded me of Marlo Thomas, That Girl.
She smiled at me and I heard her say “Well Becky, you be careful, at night with the burglaries around your neighborhood”. Grabbing the opener off the fridge I popped the cap off and turned looking at my mother. I went over to the fridge, opened the door and took out my bottle of coke. Coming into the kitchen, Mom looked at me smiling. School was out for the summer as of today and life was good. I went in to grab a coke, my mother was on the phone. I was out on the patio, listening to the radio, Jefferson Airplane was on, the song “Someone to Love”. The summer of “69” how well I remember it, just like it was yesterday.
